Event Overview

This is a great event that allows for winners to get something and to choose which SECC charity gets funds!!  It can be run in a single day or over the course of a week or event longer.  All you need for this event are some tickets to sell!

This event can be run in-person, virtually, or a combination so it is great to have a for an office or an entire department

What you'll need to run this event

Before Event

  1. Choose the rules for your competition
    1. Length of contest
    2. Cost of tickets
    3. How funds are split at the end (1 winner 50/50 split with charity
    4. 2 winners split 50%, other 50% goes to charity, etc.)
  2. Outreach to advertise event to all possible attendees
  3. Request/Get tickets to sell

During and After Event

  1. Sell tickets
    1. Use this link for ONLINE and bulk ticket sales
  2. do continuous outreach over the course of the event to update the amount people could win by entering
  3. Track participants
  4. Complete Event Report Form
    1. 2 volunteers count cash and checks, initial/record on event report form
  5. Find SECU branch near you to get FREE cashier check for cash amount
    1. If unable to get the same day as event, lock up cash/checks overnight
  6. Mail cashier check to SECC

What you'll get from the SECC for running this event

***For supplies delivery, please fill out request at least 7 biz days before event.  Pickup of supplies available in Durham until day before event***
