Raised in a small town in Iowa, Laura’s early passions included music, animals & time on her grandparents’ farm. After high school, Laura served in the US Marine Corps, finding her way to NC & the nonprofit world. She joined the SECC in 2005, helping connect NC charities to state employees. Laura & her son Marcus have called Raleigh home for over 15 years. These days reading, travel & exploring historical sites near & far is how she spends her free time.

Lauren is a development professional with over 13 years of experience at top higher education institutions. Originally from South Georgia, Lauren moved to Durham in 2012 for her husband's medical training. Since then, they've been busy raising 4 boys out by the Eno. She enjoys playing tennis, walking the family dog, and a good cup of coffee/glass of wine.
